West Hollywood doesn't do boring coffee. In a neighborhood where the sidewalk is a runway and the café patio is prime people-watching real estate, the best coffee shops in West Hollywood have to nail three things: the drink, the vibe, and the photo. These nine do — each with its own personality, each worth your morning.

The best coffee shops in West Hollywood, one by one
1. Community Goods — our pick (8687 Melrose Ave)
We're biased, obviously, but the line out the door isn't ours alone to explain. Our Korean head barista built the menu around Korean café culture: the viral Matcha Einspänner, cream-top lattes, ceremonial-grade matcha whisked to order. Come for the drink that broke the internet in this neighborhood; stay because it's genuinely excellent.
2. Urth Caffé (8565 Melrose Ave)
The Melrose institution. America's first exclusively organic coffee roaster, a favorite of locals and celebrities alike (it had a whole arc on HBO's Entourage), and still packed for good reason. The Spanish latte is a classic order, the tea selection is deep, and the dessert case — cheesecake, old-fashioned pie — has a genuine cult following. Go hungry.
3. Verve Coffee Roasters (8925 Melrose Ave)
Santa Cruz roots, serious coffee credentials — Verve was named Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine — and the Melrose location is all light, bleached wood, and lofty ceilings. Order the honey lavender draft latte, a genuinely great drink, and don't sleep on the avocado toast, which regulars treat as a food group.
4. Dayglow (866 Huntley Dr)
Tucked just off Santa Monica near the Pacific Design Center, Dayglow's whole mission is curating great coffee rather than roasting its own. The menu is small and deliberate, but the signatures are the draw: the Warhol 2.0 layers espresso with coconut, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and citrus, and the Princess Mononoke mixes cascara, black pepper cordial, and bitters over bubbles. Adventurous in the best way.

5. Alana's Coffee Roasters (634 N Robertson Blvd)
The neighborhood spot in the truest sense — tucked behind West Hollywood Park, roasting its own beans, making its own syrups. The patio is an oasis of tropical foliage with occasional live music, and the croissants are the sleeper hit of the pastry case. This is where WeHo locals actually go when nobody's watching.
6. Farm Cup Coffee (7748 Santa Monica Blvd)
Farm Cup started as a coffee truck — a 1964 Citroën van named Sunny, now parked inside the brick-and-mortar — and kept the cheerful energy. The signature lattes lean creative (turmeric, rose dust, salted caramel), and the non-coffee menu shines just as bright: the Pistachio Rose Matcha is worth the trip alone.
7. Blackwood (7253 Santa Monica Blvd)
Half high-end coffee bar, half contemporary art gallery — you sip your Rose Honey Cardamom Latte while browsing actual art. The back patio under a rose-covered trellis is one of the prettiest coffee nooks in the neighborhood, and for a dollar you can crown any iced drink with vanilla, brown sugar cinnamon, or strawberry cold foam.
8. Alfred Coffee at Glossier Alley (8509 Melrose Ave)
She's cute, she's pink, she's ready for her close-up. Tucked behind the pink gates next to Glossier's flagship, this might be the most photographed coffee counter in LA — and the Glossier Pink Latte tastes as good as it looks. The OG Alfred opened on Melrose Place in 2013; this is the icon.

9. Dialog Café (8766 Holloway Dr)
The mom-and-pop counterpoint to all the gloss. Open since 2007, family-run, and deeply loved by the locals it caffeinates daily. Espresso comes via a collaboration with LA's Stereoscope Coffee, the syrups are made in-house, and the honey oat cappuccino — espresso, oat milk, raw honey, cinnamon, hot or iced — is the order if it's your first visit.
Picking your WeHo café by mood
Here's the cheat sheet we give friends. Working? Dayglow or Verve — strong Wi-Fi, laptop-friendly tables, nobody rushing you. Date? Blackwood's rose trellis patio or Alana's foliage hideaway. Need the photo? Alfred at Glossier Alley, no contest. Just want the best-tasting cup on the list? You know where we are.
